installing mods can be a solution, but not a perfect one.Victoria 3 has become a meme and an urban legend in the strategy community over the last few years, as speculation has run rampant about when we'd get a proper sequel to 2011's Victoria 2. My idea is that since the Paradox guys have already developed a fancy renderer and graphics technologies for EU4, why don't just implement them to the Victoria series? That would satisfy many potential purchasers who do regard graphics like me, and cost fairly cheaper than building the renderer from the ground. Paradox games are not cheap(although I do understand the history investigations are costly), and that's why I believe that the game should be somewhat more luxurious. Oh well Charles, I appreciate your comment :) I also agree that the sweetest part in Paradox's grand strategy franchises are those groundbreaking systems, but in my opinion, graphics do matter when it comes to perfection. In Victoria 2 I rarely notice the graphics because it ingulfs you in both internal and external politics. The graphics are merely there as an addon to the game. Mechanics over candy as I like to put it (additionally the art style used with the map in the game is made to fit the era). I have not once fallen to a rebellion unless it was a willing event to change my government.Įdit: I would also like to say if people hate the graphics of a Grand Strategy game they are playing for the wrong reasons. Lastly the rebellion issue can easily be dealt with using forts and armies. The main purpose of Victoria 2 is political mastery and if you manage that the rest comes rather easily. The focus of the game is not military or expansion. The restricted colonization system also reflects this era. The infamy system is one of the best parts of V2 coupled by the Crisis system because it reflects the time period rather well. While it is unfortunate some features from V1 are missing V2 works fine without them.
